ALL PERFORMANCE STAFF ARE DEGREED AND CERTIFIED
"All sports share general movement patterns and technique. These are the framework for development. However, each sport and each position within a sport require specific movement patterns and technique. Elite Coaching provides sport and position specific training that will maximize performance and reduce risk of injury. It is important to develop the training to fit the movements, not the movements to fit the training."
Mike Mathis MS, ACSM-HFI, NESTA SAQ Trainer
Owner/ Director of Fitness and Performance

Most training regimens train athletes in a one dimensional capacity, while the sport they play is multidimensional. Elite Coaching training methods use multi-plane and multi-joint movements, which is truly functional and synergistic.
Elite Coaching methods do not focus on individual parts in training, rather our program designs are based on how the parts function together as a whole
Our training is based on the following principles:
-
Postural alignment and dynamic balance
-
Train strength before strength endurance
-
Train MOVEMENT, not muscles
-
Train fundamental movement skills before sport specific skills
-
Train core strength before extremity strength
-
Train body weight before external resistance
-
Train joint integrity before joint mobility
-
Train speed before train speed endurance
Our degreed and professional staff have the knowledge, skills and abilities to analyze your bio mechanics to maximize your sport specific performance
Our staff will periodize your program to peak your performance and to reduce your risk of injury.
Elite Coaching staff will take the time to explain and teach. Athletes will learn anatomy and exercise physiology. Skills and knowledge will be acquired that will become the building foundation for a lifetime of physical fitness, health and wellness
The American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association have both adopted position statements supporting strength training with children and teens under direct supervision of QUALIFIED exercise physiologists.
ACSM's Health and Fitness Journal recently published two articles supporting the use of safe, effective and fun strength training programs for teens and children in July - August 2005 edition. Both articles support strength training with children and teen populations as a means to increase strength, reduce risk of injury and potentially improve performance.
Our Philosophy on Testing
Elite Coaching training will use TESTING as a measure to analyze participant progress. However, testing is not our primary tool to guage success - it is important to realize that a test is a test - not an actual measure of success on the field. It is our position that although testing is a great tool, it should not be used as the primary function of training. The training should be targeted to improve overall performance on the field, not training to perform better for a standardized test. All too often, when testing becomes the primary guage of success, the test becomes the primary objective of training. In other words, if you train to test, you will test better. If you train to perform better in a game situation, you will perform better. We will not let our focus be testing because we feel that testing will take an abundance of time away from actual training and divert our goals of improving performance on the field where it counts.
If testing was the best way to measure performance, the NFL combine should accurately predict the best players in the NFL every year. It does help to predict success or failure, but it does not determine. The ultimate test is performance on the field.
